MP al-Maliki urges Kuwait to contribute in relieving Iraq from UN’s sanctions April 7,2012.

Baghdad (AIN)- MP Abedulsalam al-Maliki of the State of Law Coalition SLC called upon Kuwaiti side for more efforts in contributing to releiving Iraq from the sanctions of the UN Charter’s seventh Chapter.

The SLC’s MP said to All Iraq News Agency that “The Iraqi-Kuwaiti commission will start its activities on the mid of April,” stressing that “There are condensed communications by the foreign affairs ministry with the UN permanent representatives for the Permenant member countries in the UN Security Council for releiving Iraq from the UN’s Seventh Chapter.”

He also, expressed his hope that “Kuwait will form with Iraq a joint team for achieiving this purpose after the current improvements of the relations between the two countries.” clarifying that “The UN sanctions still have bad consequences on Iraq.”

Iraqi PM Nouri al-Maliki paid a one day visit to Kuwait on 14th of last March in response to an invitation from his Kuwaiti counterpart in which he met the Emir of Kuwait and the Speaker of Kuwaiti Parliament.
The PM conducted discussions with Kuwaiti side headed by Kuwait PM in which some outstanding files were resolved .
The Emir of Kuwait visited Iraq on 29th of last March in a historical step when he participated in Baghdad Summit and stressed in his speech at the Summit importance of improving relations with Iraq and solving the outstanding files which will participate in releiving Iraq from the UN Charter’s 7th Chapter.
